The Galvin Library strives to extend certain services beyond the immediate community of IIT students, faculty, and staff.
If you're a member of the general public, affiliated with another I-SHARE library, or are an alum of Illinois Tech, find out how to access the library's resources below.
If you're an alum of Illinois Tech, you can feel free to access the library during public hours. You can browse the shelves, use the guest WiFi, or find a quiet spot to work or study. The Galvin Library closes to the public each evening, and afterward is accessible only to members of the IIT community.
If you would like to check out Galvin Library books or use Interlibrary Loan services, you may purchase an annual Alumni Card for $100.00.
Download the Alumni Library Privileges Contract application (linked below) and mail your completed application and check (made payable to "Illinois Institute of Technology") to:

*At this time, there is not an IIT ID card for alumni, so alumni will be asked to present a valid government ID with photo (driver's license, passport, etc) to pick up requested materials.
The Paul V. Galvin Library of Illinois Institute of Technology is a participating member of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI). CARLI is an organization of academic libraries in Illinois that share an online catalog, I-Share. CARLI members include:
Students, faculty, and staff from I-Share institutions are able to visit Galvin Library and borrow circulating print materials unil 6.p.m.
Students whose institutions are also part of eduroam (Education Roaming) community will be able to log in to the wi-fi network using their credentials.
All other students are required to follow standard public visitor policy.
