Publishing With Illinois Tech

Galvin Library uses Open Journal Systems (OJS) to publish open-access journals run by Illinois Tech faculty and students. Hosting open-access journals allows Illinois Tech to contribute to the effort to make high-quality research widely accessible. OJS offers the tools to perform the entire process of submission, peer review, and publishing within the platform or to use the platform only for publishing as the journal manager sees fit. The library also uses OJS to make the proceedings from conferences hosted by Illinois Tech publicly available.

We encourage anyone who would like to start a journal or who is involved in a local conference to reach out to Galvin Library to create their own OJS site. We can set up the site for you, help you decide which of its tools suit your needs, and even upload your starting materials for you. DOIs and, for journals, an ISSN number can also be provided through OJS to increase the discoverability and longevity of your material.

If you are interested, reach out to library@illinoistech.edu
