Zotero

An in-depth guide to using Zotero.

Adding a Bibliography (or List of References)

Zotero does not automatically add a bibliography or list of references when you add in-text citations. You need to add it yourself. To do this, position your cursor where you want to add the bibliography or list of references:

Then click the Zotero "Add/Edit Bibliography" button in the toolbar. That will build a bibliography from the citations you've added to you paper:

If you add further in-text citations to your paper, entries will be automatically added to your bibliography, in the proper order or sequence for your chosen style. For example if I add a reference to Anderson & Martin at the very end of the paper, Zotero places it first in the bibliography because APA style alphabetizes our references by author.
