This website contains primary source material focused on six different eras:
Slavery and the Abolitionist Movement (1790-1860)
The Civil War and the Reconstruction Era (1861-1877)
Jim Crow Era from 1878 to the Great Depression (1878-1932)
The New Deal and World War II (1933-1945)
The Civil Rights and Black Power Movements (1946-1975)
The Contemporary Era (1976-2000)

This archival collection allows users to explore collections highlighting the Black experience in Chicago.

Provides information on the history, economy, population, energy, military, transportation and communication systems of 267 countries.

Use Google Scholar to search for academic articles in a variety of disciplines. Make sure to link your Google Scholar to your IIT account by opening the sidebar menu by clicking the three lines in the upper left corner. Then click on Settings. Next click on Library Links and search for Illinois Institute of Technology. Add Illinois Tech's library links by checking all the boxes and click on save. Now when you search for articles, you should see "Find Full Text@IIT next to some of the articles. Click on it to be redirected to the Illinois Tech catalog to access the article.
