Tips for Searching Like a Pro

Most research databases have powerful tools to help you filter and refine your search.

  • Use filters to quickly refine your search. They are most often located to the left of the results list.
  • Use the filters to learn about various aspects of a topic to help you create a research question.
  • Create a personal account to save searches or get email alerts of new papers that match your search.
  • Use search history to rerun or combine searches.
