Group Study Room Policies and Rules

  • A valid IIT ID is required to reserve a group study room.

  • Reservations are accepted between 14 days and 4 hours in advance of the reservation time and date. Non-reserved rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Rooms may be reserved from 30 minutes up to 2 hours at a time.

  • Students may have a limit of one booking per day.

  • Rooms are to be used for collaborative work, study groups or student organization meetings. A minimum of two students must be present for a study room to be unlocked and used.

  • Rooms should not be booked for TA hours; please contact your department for those services.

  • Rooms should not be used for job interviews except during times when the Interview Booth is otherwise occupied, or if the booth cannot be used for the interview due to space constraints.

  • Reservations will be canceled if the group is more than 15 minutes late for the reserved room and time.

  • You may cancel your booking at any time up to the start time of the reservation. Follow the cancellation link in your booking's approval email.

  • Habitual failure to adhere to these policies may result in the suspension of GSS privileges.
