Open Education Week

Launched in 2012, Open Education Week was created by Open Education Global as a time to discuss, share, and learn about Open Education successes and achievements.

This year, learn a little about how educators, students, and researchers around the world are engaging with OE and discover the various OE books, journals, and other resources that you can find through the Galvin Library!

Open Praxis
Open Praxis is a peer-reviewed open access scholarly journal focusing on research and innovation in open, distance and flexible education. It is published by the International Council for Open and Distance Education - ICDE
Open Education Studies
Open Education Studies is an international peer-reviewed Open Access journal that publishes original and relevant articles in all fields of education research. It publishes both theoretical as well as empirical and methodological contributions to education research. Its coverage encompasses all forms of teaching and learning at all levels, from early childhood development to lifelong learning.
Journal of Open, Flexible, and Distance Learning
JOFDL publishes articles from around the world relating to primary research investigations, literature reviews, the application of open education innovations, and experiences of blended learning as well as teaching at a distance in any sector of education or training.
Asian Association of Open Universities Journal

The Open Education Network's stated mission is to advance open education in higher education with the goal of making the default open access. Their Open Textbook Library is a database of free, openly licensed academic textbooks.

SPARC and Open Education
SPARC is a non-profit advocacy organization that supports systems for research and education that are open by default and equitable by design. This page explains their support for OE and the initiatives they're involved in to widen the reach of Open Education.

Many Open Education resources are licensed under a Creative Commons license, which allows creators to share their work and grant copyright permissions to others in a standardized, simplified way.
