Citation Management Tools

Fortunately, it is no longer necessary to manage your citations by hand. Citation management tools help you organize your sources, format your citations, and even insert in-text citations or bibliographies into your text. Galvin Library recommends using Zotero, a free, open-source citation management tool developed by the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University. Zotero integrates with your browser to capture sources as you find them. It also integrates with word processors, like Microsoft Word, OpenOffice/LibreOffice, Google Docs, and even LaTex to insert properly formatted citations into your documents.
