Zotero provides an alternative method of adding citations. Rather than searching for a particular paper, you can browse for it.This method is particularly useful if you keep all the papers related to each writing project in a separate folder or "collection" in Zotero.
To access this method, start by positioning your cursor and click the "Add/Edit Citation" button to bring up the Zotero search box just like you would for the default search method. then, instead of typing in the search box, click the "Z" at the left, then click "Classic View."
That opens up a dialog box that allows us to browse our collected papers for the one we want to add:
Clicking OK add the citation to our paper:
