Services for Distance Learners: Articles

A guide to information and resources for distance learners.

Document Delivery

Many of our articles are available online in a full-text or pdf format. If you request an article from an item we own only in print, we will scan the article and send it to you.

Articles should be requested through MyILL. Be sure to include mention in the "comments" field on the request form that you are a distance ed student.

MYILL

Request articles not available in full-text or pdf format through MyILL.

Search Google Scholar

Google Scholar is a popular way to search for scholarly articles, reports, books and more.  You can connect Google Scholar to IIT's libraries from the Library links section of Scholar Settings. This way, when you find an article you'd like to read you will be able to see if we have the article or be directed to MyILL to request it.

How-to Guides

Find a specific article

When you have the citation for a book or article and need to find it, use the Fetch Item function in the library search. If we have the article or book you will be linked to it. If  we do not have access, you will be prompted to request it.
