IIT students who reside within the state of Illinois, but cannot visit campus for library services, should use the nearest I-Share institution to borrow returnable items.
Students who reside outside the state of Illinois, but within the continental United States, should search WorldCat for books. When you have found a book, click the "Request this item" link. You will be prompted to log into MyILL to complete your request. In the Notes field of the request form please indicate that you a distance learner. We will ship matierals to you at no charge. Return shipping costs of materials are the responsibility of the borrower.
Items borrowed through WorldCat must be returned to Galvin Library.
Because the borrower is responsible for the item until it is safely in our hands, we strongly suggest that items be returned via USPS or UPS with insurance and a tracking number. Replacement fees for items not received by IIT Libraries will be charged to your student account. Please return items in the envelope provided to:

WorldCat is an online catalog that contains the holdings of more than 8,000 libraries worldwide. Search WorldCat for books and when you find an item you want to borrow, click on the "request this item" link. You will then be prompted to log into MyILL, our interlibrary loan management system.
You can also use MyILL to request articles the libraries doesn't have available in full-text. MyILL services are free to the IIT community.
