One effective method for research fund searching is to identify current open programs that align with your research interests. This involves regularly checking funding databases, agency websites, and professional networks for active grant opportunities in your field. By focusing on open calls for proposals, you can target timely funding sources related to your work. It's essential to stay updated on deadlines, eligibility requirements, and funding amounts to ensure you're pursuing suitable options. This strategy also allows you to adjust your research ideas to fit current funding trends, increasing your chances of securing support.
Illinois Tech subscribes to the GrantForward database (link below). GrantForward lists grant offerings from all government agencies as well as from non-governmental organizations (corporations, foundations, etc.). The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) also provides a curated list of available offerings on their website.
A free personal account is required. Illinois Tech researchers can create one by clicking the Sign Up button to the upper right of the database home page.
