Galvin Library Media Studio

Media Studio Policies and Rules

  • The Library Media Studio can be booked for up to three (3) hours at a time.

  • The Library Media Studio can be booked up to 14 days in advance.

  • A patron may request one booking per day.

  • The maximum capacity of the Library Media Studio is three users (3).

  • Bookings in the Library Media Studio are available between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

  • Library Media Studio bookings can be submitted either online or in-person at the Research Help Desk.

  • Users of the Mac in the Library Media Studio will share a user account. Therefore, the use of removable storage media or cloud storage for project files is highly recommended.

The library cannot guarantee that files or data stored on the Library Media Studio Mac will be kept private, or indeed retained; the library will periodically update and perform hard drive cleanup on the computer.

  • Users are not permitted to store personal items in the Library Media Studio outside of the duration of their booking.

  • Removing equipment or supplies from the Library Media Studio is prohibited.

  • The library is unable to offer technical support for Library Media Studio equipment.

  • The library is unable to offer expert advice or assistance in the creation of media using the Library Media Studio.

  • While efforts have been made to soundproof the Library Media Studio, users must agree to keep the volume of the room at a reasonable level.

  • No food is allowed in the Library Media Studio. Drinks must be in spill-resistant, covered containers.
